Hondo, the grand old man of the Zoo's Chimpanzee community, and the Chimpanzee that nearly every Zoo and Zoo Society employee loved the most, died peacefully in September. We are all grateful to the zookeepers, curators,veterinarians and veterinary technicians who cared for him and who gave him such a superb quality of life during his long illness.

Because we loved him so, we have established a Hondo Memorial Fund to honor his memory.

Gifts to this fund will support Chimpanzee conservation in the wild and in the Zoo.

We will miss him.
